Commissioning Art (Without the Awkwardness)

What It’s Like to Commission a Painting with Me?

Commissioning a painting should feel exciting, not intimidating. My process is relaxed, collaborative, and centered around creating something that actually feels like you.

It starts with a conversation. You’ll share what you’re envisioning—ideas, size, color palette, mood, references, or even just a feeling you can’t quite put into words yet. From there, I’ll help shape the concept into something that works beautifully as a painting.

Once we land on the details, I get to work. I’ll keep you in the loop with progress updates so you feel connected to the process without being overwhelmed by it. This is very much a collaboration, but you don’t need to micromanage—I’ve got you.

From pictures taken from travels, to loved ones, and loved homes, I’m happy to work with you to bring your ideas to life.

Pricing & Timeline:

Commission pricing typically starts around the $400 range, and increases depending on size, complexity, and scope. A 50% deposit secures your spot on my commission calendar, with the remaining balance due upon completion. Most commissions take 6–12 weeks to complete, though timelines can shift slightly depending on my studio schedule and the scale of the work.

When the painting is finished, it’s carefully prepped and delivered to you, ready to live its life in your space. My goal is always the same: to create a piece that feels personal, intentional, and timeless.

I truly love working with clients on commissions. Your ideas push my work forward, and getting to create one-of-a-kind pieces is one of the best parts of what I do. If you’re curious, have questions, or are ready to start, I’m always happy to chat.
